Gardening Group Volunteer (Lynfield Mount Hospital, Bradford)
To support gardening groups at the garden spaces adjoining the acute wards, Four Seasons Café and communal garden at Lynfield Mount Hospital, where you help service users in connecting with gardening through providing on guidance on planting, cultivating, and maintaining the garden, sharing knowledge about plant care, soil health, and sustainable gardening practices.
To build rapport with service users and to promote the positive effects of gardening and nature-based therapy on health, wellbeing and recovery. Sessions will involve growing from seed, planting, tidying and maintaining the outdoor environment. You do not need to be a qualified gardener, but we would like you to have a keen interest in gardening and horticulture
The post holder will come into regular contact with patients in hospital.
As well as the completion of the online mandatory BDCFT Volunteer Induction, you are required to attend: • Volunteer Welcome Workshop 1pm – 3.30 PM on Monday 25th March or 10am-12.30pm on Friday 5th April in Saltaire • Infection Prevention Training- 14th March 2pm- Online • Breakaway training - Friday 5th April 1-4pm in Saltaire.
These training sessions must be completed for you to be able to progress into your volunteering role, so please make every effort to attend. If you have any problems, please speak with your Volunteer Coordinator.
