Volunteer Gardening Assistant

To support BDCFT Grounds and Gardens team in maintaining our green spaces at our hospital and community sites.

We have gardeners on site who maintain our green spaces and a Volunteer Gardening Assistant will aid them in their day-to-day work. You do not need to be a qualified gardener, but we would like you to have a keen interest in gardening and horticultural. You will be expected to attend a gardening induction and you will be supported into this role.

Activities can include; lawn maintenance, plant maintenance for example watering, planting, pruning, and taking out weeds, help build and maintain features such as planters (at our community sites), litter picking and general gardening maintenance.

The main site you will be volunteering in is at Lynfield Mount Hospital if the team are working else where you will travel together there and back.

Half days or just a couple of hours across weekdays (Monday to Friday) between 8 am and 4 pm (no weekends). Minimum time requirement: 3 hours per week.

As well as the completion of the online mandatory BDCFT Volunteer Induction, you are required to attend:

• Volunteer Welcome Workshop 10am-12.30pm on Monday 6th November or 1pm- 3.30pm Tuesday 28th November in Saltaire.
